Kwinana’s top grades record crushing victories as the one-day grades struggle in the heat.

2nd grade lost the toss and was asked to bowl against Kardinya Lakes.

The mercury hit 41 degrees as Kwinana took the field which led to a slow start before Kwinana bounced back taking 7-32 to have Kardinya in trouble at 7-73.

Kurt Verdonk mopped up the tail taking 3-9 bundling Kardinya out for 92.

Kwinana lost an early wicket in reply before Josh Atkinson (59) and Verdonk (56) put on a 112 run partnership to win the game.

56 from Thomas Moore saw Kwinana finish the match on 6-247 and go into the Christmas break in fourth on the ladder.

4th grade put together an outstanding run chase to jump into fourth spot against Kardinya Lakes.

After losing the toss and being put into the field, Kwinana wilted in the heat dropping multiple catches as Kardinya put on 7-209.

Spinner Qaisar Mewati took 2-30.

The run chase started shakily before multiple partnerships chipped away at the total.

A captain’s knock of 81 from Bartholomew Pratt, and some big hitting from Luke Ward (45) saw Kwinana pass the total and make 7-263.

One-Day Bs batted first against Piara Waters and melted to 6-44.

Club president David Abbott (64) combined with Kieren Mellacheruvu (23) for a 66 run partnership helping Kwinana limp to 132.

Wickets were hard to come by as Piara Waters cruised passed the total and finished on 219.

Aaron Kirby ended with the best figures taking 2-20.

One-Day Gs bowled well to have Piara Waters out for 152 with Kody Geere taking 3-21.

The run chase started poorly at 2-22, and they couldn’t recover ending their overs on 5-128.

Cannington forfeited in the Formula 15 match giving Kwinana the win.
