Kwinana’s One-Day Cs continued their winning ways as 2nd Grade took a road trip to Karragullen.
One-Day Cs travelled to take on Phoenix and won the toss; electing to bowl first in overcast conditions.
Tight bowling and consistent wickets restricted Phoenix to a modest total of 7-136 from their 35 overs.
Fida Hussain was impressive with the ball taking 3-12 with his trademark swing.
Kwinana made a shaky start with the bat at 2-22 before Dallas Eparaima (57), and Ali Gharibyar (33) put on a match-winning partnership of 122 runs which saw Kwinana finish the match on 3-144.
2nd Grade batted first against Rolystone-Karragullen.
Geoff Perera fell early, but Kwinana put together steady partnerships until Daniel Campo took control of the back end with 68n.o; pushing Kwinana’s total to 169 to end day one.
The bowlers will look to repeat their efforts from the last match on day two to stay at the top of the table.
4th Grade had a tough day in their game against Rolystone-Karragullen.
Kwinana batted first after winning the toss but couldn’t stop Rolystone-Karragullen captain Brett Turner as he claimed 7-23 to tear the Kwinana order apart.
Kwinana limped to 100 all out and took to the field needing early wickets.
Turner was again the thorn in Kwinana’s side flaying his way to 49 before running himself out.
The day ended with Rolystone-Karragullen on 2-80 needing just 21 runs for a first-innings victory.
