Kwinana’s 2nd Grade bowlers led a big fightback late on day one against Riverton-Rostrata as One-Day Cs go down in another nailbiter.
2nd Grade lost the toss and was asked to bat first on a temperamental Orelia Oval pitch.
The top order again failed to make an impact with Kwinana slumping to 4-16 before Qaiser Mewati, and Paul Silchinger settled the innings.
They both fell within an over of each other as Riverton-Rostrata wrapped up the Kwinana innings for 116.
Kwinana made a great start with the ball as Rob Taylor, and Rhyley Rametta dominated the batsmen to take two wickets before the close of play.
Riverton-Rostrata will resume on Saturday at 2-24.
One-Day Cs travelled to take on Piara Waters and were asked to bowl first.
Kwinana made a good start thanks to Scott Benjamin’s 3-16.
Piara Water’s middle order put on valuable runs before Kwinana regained control.
Piara Waters finished the innings on 7-159.
It was a disastrous start for Kwinana with both openers falling before the score reached double figures.
Dallas Eparaima (44) regained control and alongside Rod Cribbs (39n.o.) got Kwinana within touching distance.
It would prove to be not quite enough as Kwinana ended the innings on 6-155.
4th Grade had a nightmare against Riverton-Rostrata at Riverton Reserve after deciding to bowl first.
Blake Kilgallon (3-73) was again a shining light alongside Fida Hussain (2-62), but they couldn’t stop Riverton-Rostrata romping to 7-270.
They will need to dig deep with the bat if they are to chase the target down next week.
