The 2018-19 season kicked off under blue skys on Sunday as Kwinana took on Baldivis in two scratch matches.
The first game took place on Orelia oval with a team made up of players from 2nd and 4th grade.
The new boys shone on debut with the spinners pulling out a bag of tricks and a new keeper putting on a classy and composed batting display to get Kwinana within ten runs of victory before falling as the final wicket.
The second game saw the one-day players dust off the cobwebs in a dominant display. They batted first making a total of more than 200 before bowling Baldivis out well short.
A good turnout from Kwinana and Baldivis members saw the players receive plenty of support.
A thoroughly enjoyable day was capped off by a sausage sizzle with players from both sides getting together to share stories.
Sunday the 16th of September will see Kwinana take on Shoalwater in another two scratch matches at Orelia.
The club welcomes all members to come down and cheer on the boys as they get ready for round one.
Kwinana Cricket Club would also like to remind everyone that the annual Fiona Harris T20 Match will be held on the 23rd of September at Orelia Oval.
